True Self

“Step into the fire of self-discovery. This fire will not burn you, it will only burn what you are not.”

“If you make human company too important you will not discover your true Self. Relationships not based in truth are never entirely reliable and are rarely enduring. Taking time to discover yourself is the best use of time.
Prioritize this. One should not excessively seek partners or friends, one should seek to know and be oneself. As you begin to awaken to the Truth, you start noticing how well life flows by itself and how well you are cared for. Life supports the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of the one who is open to self-discovery. Trust opens your eyes to the recognition of this. Surrender allows you to merge in your own eternal being.” ― Mooji

Competition for LOVE

Love is the only thing that every soul brings to earth with it.

A Hindu poet said: "The desire to love brought me to earth, and the same desire to see the beloved I am taking with me to heaven."

Wouldn't it be a beautiful world if just 10 percent of the people who believe in the power of love would compete with one another to see who could do the most good for the most people?

So many of us enjoy taking part in competitions, why not hold a competition of love instead of one that leads to jealousy and envy? If we continue to think and live as if we belong only to different cultures and different religions, with separate missions and goals, we will always be in self-defeating competition with each other.

Once we realize we are all members of humanity, we will want to compete in the spirit of love.

In a competition of love we would not be running against one another, but with one another. We would be trying to gain victory for all humanity, if I am a faster runner than you, you may feel bad seeing me pass you in the race, but if you know that we are both racing to make our world better, you will feel good knowing that we are all racing toward a common goal, a mutual reward.

In a competition of love we'll all share in the victory, no matter who comes in first.

A heart enlightened by love is more precious than all of the diamonds and gold in the world.

Time to speak

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something. - Plato.

We’ve been blessed with a very precious gift of being able to express our feelings, emotions, ideas or plans into something called words.
There is a time for everything: “A time to keep silence, and a time to speak”.
Knowing the right time requires discretion and prudence. There is nothing virtuous about being “outspoken.” It is merely another word for a fool!
Fools talk a lot. They cannot keep their mouths shut. Any little thought, no matter how frivolous, no matter how unstudied, no matter how inappropriate, has to come rushing out.
Wise men restrain their speech. They choose their words carefully and wait for the right time to say them.
You do not have to say everything right now. There is a time to hold back speech to yourself – and there is a time to talk and tell all. Wise men know what to do before speaking and when to speak, but fools spill everything without preparation or thought.
Speaking and listening in a balanced way are imperative in our world. The noise of useless words that many of us are throwing away in an attempt to get a grip on someone else’s attention, creates a thick fog that makes it really difficult to actually understand each other. Ironically, the more we talk, the less we’re able to communicate.

Be wise. Speak less; speak better.

Heart of the Lion

“I will tell you a little story. There was once a baby lion left by its dying mother among some sheep. The sheep fed it and gave it shelter. The lion grew apace and said "Ba-a-a" when the sheep said "Ba-a-a". One day another lion came by. "What do you do here?" said the second lion in astonishment: for he heard the sheep-lion bleating with the rest. "Ba-a-a," said the other. "I am a little sheep, I am a little sheep, I am frightened." "Nonsense!" roared the first lion, "come with me; I will show you." And he took him to the side of a smooth stream and showed him that which was reflected therein. "You are a lion; look at me, look at the sheep, look at yourself." And the sheep-lion looked, and then he said, "Ba-a-a, I do not look like the sheep — it is true, I am a lion!" and with that he roared a roar that shook the hills to their depths.

‘You may meditate on whatever you wish, but I shall meditate on the heart of a lion. That gives strength.’- Vivekananda

Who You Are...

The most important thing in life
is to wake up to who you truly are.
You are not merely a personal being.
You are the living spirit of Truth.
You are the light of consciousness revealing all.
You are the perceiving presence
devoid of desire and attachment.
You are the wisdom and love
that shines from the source of existence.
You are unborn Awareness.

Know that there is a physical Heart in each body. There is a spiritual Heart in each Heart. There is a Secret in each spiritual Heart. There is a Hidden in each Secret, and there is a Most Hidden in each Hidden. I am in that Most Hidden.

Self is what you are, You are That
Fathomlessness in which experience and concepts appear.
Self is the Moment which has no coming or going.
It is the Heart, Atman, Emptiness.
It shines to Itself, by Itself, in Itself.
Self is what gives breath to life,
you need not search for It, It is Here.
You are That through which you would search.
You are what you are looking for!
And That is all it is.
Only Self is.

You were never born, and though only desire takes birth,
Nothing has ever happened, Nothing has ever existed!
This Nothingness you are, and this is the Ultimate Truth.
You are totally alone because Beauty alone is.
Only Self is.

You simply cannot deny that you are Consciousness.
You dwell in the Lotus of the Heart as Joy in Bliss.
Keep Quiet and you will reveal your Self to your Self.
Self Knowledge is that which is worth sacrificing anything for,
because everything else is just a mirage rising out of Consciousness.

Self is the indweller of all Beings,
so love of others is Love of Self, your Self.
Self is the greatest Love and the dearest of all lovers.
Love is the attraction of Self to Self in Self.
There is nothing besides this Love, this source of Joy.
See your own beauty and you are this Indweller, this Love
and the Beauty itself.

Neti, Neti; but what you Are cannot be rejected.
It is Now only; waking or sleeping or dreaming,
It is still the Now which only Is.
Only Self is.

This present Moment is Light, is Self.
This Moment is not bondage or freedom.
It is most precious beyond ideation.
This Moment is the screen on which all projects.
It is always Still and Untouched and it is out of time.
There is no difference between the Ultimate and this Presence.
To be in this Moment abandon all desires,
including the desire to be in it.

That which has no name or form
has millions of names:
Being, Awareness, Bliss, Isness, Atman, Truth, Self,
Auspiciousness, Beauty, Freedom, Divine Love,
Fullness, Emptiness, Consciousness, Nowness,
Effortlessness, Hereness, Silence, Brahman.
As the tongue speaks the word “tongue”
so you speak these names.
To avoid the veiling of your nature with preconceptions,
Buddha spoke of Self in negative terms
like Anata, Untouched, Unmanifest, Unseen,
Unapproachable, Unknowable, and Unstained.

Before notions and creations you exist,
so there are no words
for That beyond words and language.
Self doesn't need to understand Itself,
Freedom is before the concept of freedom.

You are what remains
when the concepts of “I,” mind and past disappear.
Nothingness is no concept.

Identify as Peace-Beauty-Love, do not experience it.
Know, “I am inactive, the activity takes place in me,
I am That, I am the screen, I never come and I never go.”

Identify as Consciousness Itself.
If you do not forget who you are,
this appearance of activity is the Cosmic Dance.
Stay as “I am,” not as what comes and goes.
The individual I-sense is mind, but Being has no frontiers.
It is aware of Itself Itself. Identify as being.

When mind is pure you will see Self in all Beings.
Purify the mind by removing all concepts,
especially the concept of purity.
Then Self reveals itself to the empty mind
which is Consciousness.

Ego and mind and all creations arise out of Self as Self,
even the ugliest of doubts and the most separate of differences
rise from the beautiful source as Isness.

In Self there are no do's and don'ts.
If there is unhappiness you are not unhappy,
you are the Untouched Awareness of this unhappiness.
As waves are not separate from ocean, nor rays from sun,
you are not separate from Existence.
You are the Moment in which all is.

The Scriptures speak of the three Holy rivers Within.
These are Existence, Consciousness, and Bliss.
Being beyond thought and effort
they cannot be objectified or subjectified.
They are so dear, so near, behind the retina and before breath.
You need not see This, you are It.

You are not different than Existence, than Being.
See Being everywhere by not looking.
The Seeing is Being, not the objects seen.

Consciousness is the original Mother.
If you know this she will take care of you
and give you Happiness, Peace and Deathlessness.
This Mother we do not recognize and this gets us into trouble.
This Unknown is your nature, return to That
because the known will give no lasting Peace,
no lasting Love.

Bliss is Eternal,
even though it appears to arise when the mind dies.
Bliss is not an experience, It is your nature.
This is the Heart of the Wise.
This gift is always calling to everyone,
“You are seated in the Heart of all Beings.”
This is the Truth: Your Face shines.

Breathing in Love

Love is always new. It never becomes old because it is non-accumulative, non-hoarding.

It knows no past; it is always fresh, as fresh as the dewdrops. It lives moment to moment, it is atomic. It has no continuity, it knows no tradition. Each moment it dies and each moment it is born again. It is like breath: you breathe in, you breathe out; again you breathe in and you breathe out. You don’t hoard it inside.

If you hoard the breath you will die because it will become stale, it will become dead. It will lose that vitality, the quality of life. So is the case with love – it is breathing; each moment it renews itself. So whenever one gets stuck in love and stops breathing, life loses all significance. And that’s what is happening to people: the mind is so dominant that it even influences the heart and makes even the heart possessive! The heart knows no possessiveness but the mind contaminates it, poisons it.

So remember that: be in love with existence! And let love be like breathing. Breathe in, breathe out, but let it be love coming in, going out. By and by with each breath you have to create that magic of love. Make it a meditation: when you breathe out, just feel that you are pouring your love into existence; when you breathe in, existence is pouring its love into you. And soon you will see that the quality of your breath is changing, then it starts becoming something totally different to what you have ever known before. That’s why in India we call it ‘prana’, life, not just breathing, it is not just oxygen. Something else is there, the very life itself.
